Why not Ektachrome Infrared / Aerochrome?
Availability
Ever since the rising demand of EIR, it is nearly impossible to find it. The depicted image shows a later Version (EIR) of Aerochrome, which was the only type i was able to get hands on
Quality
Once a roll of EIR is acquired, the results can still be very unpredictable. The freshest rolls are still over 20 years old, storage conditions usually not the best and thus not a reliable way to shoot infrared

Price
Rolls of EIR that are available, usually cost as much as a used camera. Older Versions of Aerochrome or kept in good condition usually tend to skyrocket even more
Development
Trying to compensate for the age of the film, one can cross-process EIR in C41 instead of E6 since E4 is due to hazardous-ness no longer available. Like my test image shows, C41 does not help a lot with contrast
